A French heavy tank presented in a design competition as an alternative to the AMX 50 project. Development of the vehicle began in 1946, but the prototype was not completed until October 1951. The vehicle was developed using German tank building technologies; the tank was armed with a 100-mm cannon with a drum-type autoloader in a swinging tower. The tests were carried out from January to July 1953, but they did not show positive results. As a result, preference was given to the AMX 50 project.
